From political milestones to the next A-list celebrity scandal, The News Argus is covering it. The Argus staff has decided to affiliate with Collegenews.com, an excellent source of both serious and popular news for all college students. College news gives students the opportunity to participate in an online news source made expressly for them.
“We decided to partner with collegenews.com because it provides a fresh and youthful twist to world news and addicting celebrity gossip,” Editor in Chief Stephanie Douthit said.
The new “Your Voice/Your Views” forum allows students to have their voices heard about the issues that matter most, on topics ranging from the legalization of marijuana to domestic violence. In addition to expressing opinions, students can read all the latest news on a wide variety of subjects.
Zack Teibloom, a Collegenews.com editor, says “Collegenews.com is a one-stop shop for all things college.” The Web site gives readers up-to-date news on topics like presidential debates, voting on campus and international issues.
Financial tips on everything from credit cards to scholarships can be found in the “Money” department while “Careers” offers advice on how to land a dream job or one you didn’t expect to choose. In addition, the “Sex & Dating” section provides information every college student wants to know about the taboo topic.
Some other features include the “Dirty Sports” section, which is dedicated to sports fans who want to know what really goes on after the game ends. For entertainment, the “Ear Candy” and “Videos” sections provide the latest in music and must-see videos. Argus editor Grant Fulton believes this site has something for all students. “Its great, there is a topic of interest for everyone,” he said.
The News Argus will participate in the Collegenews.com community by submitting stories and other content. Students can also vote in various polls and read the blogs on the site.
